template: A predesigned database that already includes tables, forms, reports, and other object types. You can use a template to quickly create a database. Access includes several common database templates.

Text field: The most common type of Access field, this field stores (as its name implies) text. Keep in mind that some text fields can contain text, numbers, or a combination. For instance, a phone number is best stored as a text field because you aren't likely to perform numerical calculations on that field.
